Frost is a solo card game that offers a unique spin on the deck-building genre. Inspired by games like Dominion and Ascension, Frost is a survival game that positions you in charge of a group of people struggling against a relentless storm.
The game features an intriguing and immersive universe where a giant and lethal storm moves around the globe, and people are learning to survive in this cold, harsh and hostile environment. They are searching for the Refuge, a sanctuary where the Frost can never go.
Frost is a challenging game that requires strategy, memory, and anticipation to succeed. There are several different characters that possess different abilities and dozens of cards to discover. The cards represent resources, weapons, ideas, dangers, and regions. It’s up to you to determine when it’s the appropriate time to use them. There are hours of gameplay through the different difficulty settings, scenarios, and the endless mode. Frost is accessible for all skill levels and can be played at your own pace.
Frost is developed by one man, Jérome Bodin. Bodin points out that his artwork may be a little sloppy, I tend to disagree and praise anyone who can develop a unique game on their own. Hopefully, Frost makes its way to mobile platforms, as it would be the perfect game to play in transit.
So far Frost has received positive reviews via Steam. There’s also a demo available so you can try before you buy. You can check out the game right here.
