Aussie developed Rogue Singularity, a 3D puzzle platformer slash obstacle course, is on the lookout for a host of new characters to join its stable. Not just any characters, though, but Aussie characters.

The game itself follows in the traditions of all the great 3D platformers, with the modern twist of procedural generation, meaning every game will be different for each player. It’s one of the big buzz words in gaming right now, but the concept lends itself well to a platform game. There’s also speed run challenges (ghosts included), leaderboards and the like, but the big ticket will be in the character customisation and creation system.

Melbourne studio Considerable Content and console publishers Nnooo are putting the call out for local Australian indie studios to use the newly developed character creation tools to add their own heroes to the game. It’s a pretty cool concept, opening it out to almost any local dev, though I doubt my personal creation ‘Billy the Drag-Queen Dragon Goat’ could be included (especially since I just made it up for this article). Besides Billy, there’s quite a few characters that would certainly fit, like the Crossy Road chicken, the shooter hero Epoch or Cactus from Assault Android Cactus for example. Perhaps any of the kick-ass characters from Armello? Anything’s possible, though it’s up to the teams behind the games to get their characters included.

Check out the trailers below to get the lowdown on the tool set and Rogue Singularity in motion, and if you happen to be a local dev who’s interested, be sure to hit up the studio themselves.

Rogue Singularity is currently in a closed beta and is scheduled for release soon on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
