Bear With Me is a noir inspired point and click adventure game about a young girl trying to find her missing brother with the help of her grumpy detective teddy bear. And it’s so damn cute, people, just look at it!
Amber wakes up one morning to discover that her loving brother is missing. With her bears help (who’s too old for this s***), you’re off to solve the mystery, interrogating witnesses in the hopes of finding him. It’s a dark, twisted and wholly sarcastic story full of puns and some really cool 2D animated characters and backgrounds that harks back to the LucasArts days in the best of ways.
What caught me was those characters, the fact that you can play and interact with a teddy bear named Ted E. Bear who’s classic 1930’s detective through and through, gruff on the outside but all soft and cuddly on the inside … and outside … I guess. This isn’t a kids game, so don’t let the cutesy fool you, but anyone who did grow up with Maniac Mansion or Grim Fandango will hopefully find something equally as enjoyable here.
Bear WIth Me launches this week on Steam via Exordium Games out of Zagreb, Croatia. It’s not their first release and judging from this, hopefully not their last. Go check it out and let us know what you think.
