How far would mankind go to save Earth from a world-ending event? Turns out it’s pretty damn far.
Frozen State is a brutal, survival game set in a world where we created a new ice age that’s meant to protect us from invading alien forces. Bitter cold and numbing fear are your constant companions in the journey through this retro-futuristic frozen world.
On your way to joining the resistance, you become stranded in the walled city Duga-40, forced to repair your vehicle before you can continue the journey. Despite taking place in just one city, Frozen State is vast. The game features 65 locations, populated by human survivors, military forces and pestilent alien hybrids. You will uncover the story of the city and understand why everything turned to shit.
The world of Frozen State is randomly generated, resulting in a different experience each time you play. Frozen State incorporates survival elements such as the need to eat, drink and sleep. A deep crafting system not only lets you cook food but also craft weapons, traps, barricades, and shelters. The game features a top-down perspective and three playable characters – both male and female. The combat is a mix of melee, firearms, and stealth. Conversing with NPCs opens quests that can lead to sweet loot.
Frozen State is ‘chilling’ right now on PC and Mac. It’s developed by Flox Studios, a team based in Bristol. You can find out more about it on Steam right here.
