Iphones with no headphone jack, Mario games on mobile phones, 4K streaming but no 4K disc support … dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria!
It’s been a weird week, really. On the one hand, we’re seeing advancements in our favourite pieces of tech, but then again said advancements have us all incredibly confused. Why build a new PS4 and completely ignore the discs you’re trying to push? Why remove a port that’s still so commonly used? Why hasn’t Nintendo shown us the NX yet?!
I actually made a strangely timed joke last night, a conspiracy theory that Apple and Sony’s conferences were on at almost the same time because Apple were going to announce the acquisition of the PlayStation brand. And then fracking Nintendo appears on the stage and I nearly had a heart-attack! Luckily it was to announce a new Mario game on iOS, which took many of us by surprise because they STILL HAVEN’T TOLD US WHAT THE NX IS.
Anyway, what’s happening at PN2. Well we’ve added a few new article series, focusing on a few other areas of gaming and entertainment. We’re putting a bigger focus on the eSport scene going forward, keeping an eye on events and competitions here in Australia and around the world. Obviously we won’t be able to catch everything that happens, like the local Pokemon Card Game tournament at your local primary school, but we’ll do our best to keep you informed on the latest goings on in a fast growing community.
Side note, I always wanted to be a Tetris champion. Maybe one day. In the meantime, expect more eSports content going forward.
You might also see a few more articles on comics, TV and movies going forward. Mike has been hard at work comic up with a new ongoing comics article, giving you the lowdown on the best new releases each week. Trust me when I say there’s far more out there than just Marvel and DC. There’s a ton of TV and movies coming out over the coming months that look fantastic too, so we will be talking more about those as well.
It’s all part of expanding our reach to bigger audiences, talking about a wide range of topics and things we love, whilst establishing weekly articles for you to come back to. Because we want you to come back, that’s important to us.
That’s it for this week. I’m just gonna finish writing this demanding letter to Nintendo now. If you don’t hear back from me for next week’s editor’s note, it’s probably because they sent the dogs onto me. See you in the next gaming life.
