In a Kickstarter update, developer Inti Creates stated that their upcoming title Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, the spiritual successor to the Castlevania series would be pushed back to an estimated release sometime within the first half of 2018.
Project leader Koji Igarashi (IGA) stated that bringing on additional developers and moving the release date is essential to the game being done right the first time.
“The last thing I want to do is keep our backers waiting, but after receiving such incredible support, I feel responsible for delivering the best product I possibly can. Again, I offer my sincerest apologies” IGA said in a video addressing Kickstarter backers.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night was originally scheduled for release early 2017 for PC, PS4, Xbox One, Wii U and Vita.
A demo was playable at E3 this year while Kickstarter backers were able to download a copy.
