TOXIKK, the old-school FPS arena shooter has blasted the shackles of Early Access and curb stomped its way to a full release. TOXIKK plays like the modern military and MOBA shooters never existed. It’s inspired by arena shooters of the late nineties such as Quake and Doom. All players are equal in that upgrades cannot be bought, and weapon pickups are strategically placed throughout the maps. Double jumping, wall boosting and vehicular combat are just some of the areas where TOXIKK shines. It’s much more akin to the 2016 version of Doom than anything else out there which is a good thing in my book.
To celebrate leaving Early Access, developer Reakktor Studios has also released a free version. The free version does not have any competitive disadvantages. It’s a demo that offers the full core experience with no time limit. It only lacks some of the customisable options.
TOXIKK looks fast and insanely brutal, and we can’t wait to get our hands on it. Stay tuned to PN2 as we go hands-on with TOXIKK over the coming weeks and let you know what we think. Until then, check it out for yourself and let us know what you think in the comments below.
