Small Radios Big Televisions is described as a point and click exploration game where you explore abandoned factories in search of VHS tapes. Once located, you insert the tapes into a player allowing you to explore ‘worlds within worlds’ by manipulating their audio and visual data.
The developer FIRE FACE was inspired by “the feeling of playing an old cassette tape found in a basement, combined with the atmosphere of urban exploration.”
FIRE FACE is a small studio based in Ottawa, Canada who have attracted the attention of some big names. Adult Swim Games has signed on as the publisher with Sony securing console rights. Small Radios Big Televisions is set for release later this year on PC and PlayStation 4.
I am yet to wrap my head around the concept of this game but the trailer convinced me. I can’t wait to explore VHS worlds within worlds within worlds…
