Toylogic’s dungeon crawler Happy Dungeons was originally launched as a game preview on the Xbox One back in August. The game has now been officially release with a massive update. The game is free to play and allows you to play with up to four friends in a button-mashing, loot-grabbing frenzy. You’ll play as one character in this co-op action RPG to fight a number of baddies. Enemies are small and large, grotesque and comical, and the action is fairly high-speed and non-stop.
The original Toylogic game was Happy Wars, a very similar cute but cartoonily violent title that came out in 2012. Little known fact: it was the first ever free-to-play game for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Happy Dungeons has improved on the formula of its predecessor with quick matches, which allows players to participate in multiplayer games more quickly, new legendary items, Class Skills, Minions, rare & epic equipment, consumables, and the option to toggle the controller vibration. Both the recent update and the entirety of Happy Dungeons are an impressive expansion to the previously successful Happy title.
Despite the T rating from ESRB, the game looks like a very family friendly addition to anyone’s gaming collection. And since it’s free, there’s really no reason not to pick up this fantasy arcade treat.
