Agent A: A Puzzle in Disguise and Killing Time at Lightspeed were the big award winners at the 2016 Australian Game Developer Awards, held overnight in Melbourne.
Agent A, having just released on Android, took out awards for Excellence in Art, Excellence in Audio and the overall Game of the Year award. You can bet the team at Yak & Co. are already gearing up for their next venture with renewed confidence.
Killing Time at Lightspeed: Enhanced Edition won the award for Innovation with its unique social media concept. It also won the Representation award for its diverse characters and its consideration of modern social justice issues. It caps off a busy few weeks for Gritfish too, having just released Mallow Drops on Steam.
Other award winners included Assault Android Cactus by Wicked Witch, taking home the Technical Excellence award for its twin-stick shooter action, Tennis Bits by Playside Studios for its Excellence in Design and Tangent by Lampshade Games, which picked up the Accessibility award for its inclusion of colour blind and vision impaired options.
A massive congratulations to all of the winners, nominees and honourable mentions who all deserve the spotlight for their continued excellence within the Australian scene. Well done!
