What’s a better way to spend a Saturday night in Melbourne then playing some unique video games, hanging out with friends, having a casual drink or two and watching a documentary on the video game industry? Spending it all in one place, of course!
US & The Game Industry: The New Art of Video Game Design was filmed between 2009 and 2012 and shares the story of a number of developers on their developments, motivations and various other interesting tidbits on video game development. You might notice a few familiar faces in the cast, including members of Journey creator thatgamecompany, Antichamber developer Alexander Bruce and Ridiculous Fishing co-creator Zach Gage.
The film itself has been showing around the world for a while now and you’ll get a chance to see it for yourself in Melbourne at the perfect place, the video game inspired Bar SK, this Saturday @ 7pm.
Bar SK is one of the newest, coolest places to hang out in Collingwood, with unique art and game installations to enjoy in a casual atmosphere. It’s a great way to spend an afternoon or evening, especially for gamers who want a safe place to chat AND play games at the same time. There’s a lot of positive vibes going around on Twitter about it, so no doubt I’ll be visiting when I’m in Melbourne next Feb. You can find out more about it and how to get there right here.
