Being a game designer, artist, or content creator can be a tough gig, especially when you’re working solo or even as a small team. Many of life’s pressures can prevent the progress of their work – I think we can all understand that – so websites like Kickstarter can be of great benefit to those who are passionate about their ideas, but need some financial help so their dreams can see the light of day.
I thought it would be a good idea to browse through the Kickstarter website to shed some light on the projects that could use a helping hand in promoting their interests and ambitions to the world. Here are a few I found that I’d like to see reach their goals.
This is a 3D puzzle-platformer from Leyline Games for the PC and mobile platforms. In it, you take the role of a sentient orb of light, as you explore an ancient civilization that has been plunged into darkness, and the only source of light is yours.
The developers are looking for exposure for not only the game but as a new Indie start-up company.
From Divine Games, IronSaga: Brothers at War will be a free to play side-scrolling adventure platformer for PC and Android. Fight as a destined king and restore peace to the corrupted lands of Drethen.
The developers are very dedicated to this project and are hoping to add many features into the game. Check out their link to the playable demo!
The Jelly Break is a brand new game similar to Candy Crush Saga, where you tap, drag, and drop jellies to get a high score. It has a small goal of $500 and less than ten days remaining.
The developers are looking at the mobile markets – specifically iOS and Android phones and tablets.
Path of Scion is a dark fantasy RPG, made using the Unity engine for the PC from developers DigiPig. The player embodies a “demi-god” and must use prophets to manifest into a physical form, to extend their power and influence over the land of Wesvenia using sacred powers, political cunning, or military force.
Fletcher the Dwarf was created fifteen years ago, as a character in Dungeons & Dragons. He’s slowly built a legacy across several worlds, and now his adventures will continue in Legend of a Dwarf by the small team Dev Cup.
Legend of a Dwarf will be a dungeon crawling RPG platformer. Be part of the Legend!
Not a video game, but rather a new and easy to learn trading card game called Circles of Imora. The creators wanted to make a card game that lacked the complexities of a rule book, in exchange for a simpler and fun way to play.
Construct an army from rare and powerful cards for survival on Imora!
If there are other projects you would like to promote, let us know about them in the comments.
