Remember when Ubisoft announced the Nosulus Rift and we all thought it was a joke, but it was actually real? Well put that down as not the weirdest thing you’ll see this year that’s real, thanks to a brand new Kickstarter campaign started by Outlast 2 developers Red Barrels.
It’s called ‘Underscares’, a wearable companion diaper and it’s currently seeking the required funds to become a reality on Kickstarter. The reason why it exists is to allow Outlast 2 players to literally poop themselves without worrying about ruining that $100 pair of Calvin Klein’s. Having seen the Outlast 2 demo in action, I can see why these might come in handy, it really is scary.
“After the release of Outlast 1, we received numerous reports of soiled undergarments and unprepared anuses,” the studio says in its Kickstarter project page. “So we, the team at Red Barrels, decided to come up with a solution … Fear for your underwear no more with Underscares.”
Red Barrels, Developers of Outlast 2
2016, folks. 2016. If it’s something that does interest you, and who am I to judge, then you can follow the Kickstarter campaign here. Credit to the developers for sticking to their guns … honestly, the videos are hilarious, you can tell they love what they do and they have an audience that respects and appreciates it too. Also keep an eye out, the original Outlast will be free next month for Xbox Live Gold subscribers.
