There are always plenty of fantastic projects to be backed over on Kickstarter, video games galore! But, it seems the hot ticket item lately has been those which provide more of a material possession, such as board games, figurines, cards, and artwork.

Which is great if you ask me. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t give back video games for the world. But, I also remember playing with army soldiers, matchbox cars, and board games as a child, and Warhammer later in my teens, where I had to use my imagination, something, I thought, would be lost in the future generations.

So, seeing all these Kickstarter projects producing actual physical items makes me happy. So, let’s browse through some, shall we?

The Second Breakfast

The Halfmen Army is a set of miniature figurines which has been heavily inspired by J. R. R. Tolkien’s novel, The Hobbit, and The Second Breakfast is the second additional set to be created by Westfalia publishing.

This set adds more Halfmen, goats, guns, and buildings to their adventures.

OGRE Miniatures Set 1

OGRE was a strategic military board game set in the year 2085, which was originally published back in 1977 by Steve Jackson. Now, it’s back with the OGRE sixth edition and the Designer editions.

The Kickstarter has been set up to produce a set of unpainted plastic figurines to be fully compatible with the Ogre Sixth edition.

Destiny Aurora: Renegades Miniature Board Game

Another board game, this time based on the book series Destiny Aurora by Destiny Horizons, Inc, which is set in an immersive sci-fi universe.

Kingdom Death: Monster 1.5

Kingdom Death: Monster 1.5 is an update to the cooperative horror tabletop game project by Adam Poots. This game already has quite a following, and the figurines are incredibly detailed and gruesome, perfect for any nightmare.

Quodd Heroes

This is a fast paced board game with infinite replayability for up to 2 – 4 players created by Ryan IIer. Again, combining figurines, cards, tokens, and dice to help create a lot of player interaction.

As always, remember to read the Kickstarter FAQ’s, Terms of Use, and Privacy Policy conditions, to be sure about what you are investing in.

If there are other projects you would like to promote, let us know about them in the comments.
